The sun has set on Mountain Practice Journeys and the moon has risen on Cozy Hermit Coven. ~ Cindy

I’m extending to you a warm welcome into the sanctuary that is the Cozy Hermit Coven.

Pause and take a moment for yourself with 3 deep breaths. Now, that’s better.

Come journey with me…

You arrive by strolling down a well-worn, inviting path into the forest. You haven’t noticed this path until now because you’ve been too busy trying to keep your head above water in this overwhelming and overstimulating world. You have grown weary. And growing tired of this weariness, you have decided to do something different.

This is when you slow down and take notice that there is another path. Cozy Hermit Coven is off the beaten path. It’s a path that appears when you are ready to find it. On your way down the path, you pass the most beautiful natural scenery. You smell the scent of fresh flowers that both awaken and comfort your soul. You run your hand along the fluffy moss that covers a large rock and feel an instant connection to Mother Nature herself – something that has been missing for far too long. You hear the birds chirping in the trees and know that there is life and energy outside of the hustle and grind. And you see the cutest little bunny hop across your path, letting you know that you are almost there.

You look up to see my cozy cabin in the woods. It is bright and inviting. You feel a sense of ease and peace, along with the realization that you arrived precisely as you needed to. I welcome you in and invite you to take a seat around the hearth. As you make your way to your comfy chair, you notice a hot cup of tea waiting just for you. We begin to chat about life, and our hopes and dreams. I tell you that if you’re looking for a quick fix, or for an expert to tell you what to do, you’re in the wrong place. I then say, if you want to slow down and learn more about yourself, so that you can begin to connect with your intuition and the longings of your soul, then you’re right at home.

Now that you’ve arrived, take your time. Meander around. And be open to finding the medicine you need in unexpected places.

Why Cozy Hermit Coven?

This name just came to me and it felt right. But after landing on the name, I decided to break down the components and it perfectly encompasses what I want this space to be.

As an Enneagram 9, I know all about cozy. Cozy is my jam! If it’s not cozy, I don’t want it! But, all jokes aside, I believe that there needs to be a coziness factor in order to learn in a way that gets us in touch with ourselves and our intuition. I don’t believe that the fast-paced, 10X “crush it” approach is working for those of us who really want to know ourselves and tune into a more essential and innate type of guidance.

My life path tarot card is The Hermit. This card is all about introspection, looking within, inner reflection and guidance, and an increase in awareness and awakening. And I chose the lantern as a focal piece in my branding because of what the lantern represents. The lantern that the hermit holds only illuminates a path for the very next step. We don’t need to know the entirety of our journey, only the next aligned step.

I want there to be more covens. Circling with other beautiful souls is so important for healing our witch wounds. It used to be considered “dangerous” for wise women and men, healers, and mystics to gather, and this is just another example of how a patriarchal society keeps us disconnected from the divine feminine and from our intuitive gifts. Beautiful healing is available when mystics gather in an intentional, safe place.

Standing Up To Oppression Is Cozy

When you hear the words capitalism, colonization, patriarchy, and white supremacy – you probably don’t think of the word cozy, but I’m here to challenge that. It’s these systems of oppression and harm that impede coziness, so you can bet that I’ll be talking about them and their dangerous wake.

Those of us who have lived a privileged life where inequities were covered up by a white-washed society and false teachings are waking up to the disgusting history of our world and we are understanding that what happened “in the past” or “long ago” is still having devastating effects today. I’ll not be bypassing in this regard and acting as if having a voice and taking a stand on important issues will interfere with the cozy vibes here at the Cozy Hermit Coven. In fact, I believe it will amp up the cozy vibes.

People these days – or at least the people that I want to be involved with – are being more discerning about where they place their trust and their dollars. So when you support me and Cozy Hermit Coven, you can feel good about the time, energy, and money that you are investing because collective liberation is an important foundation of my work.
